What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is a type of commission based Marketing, in which third party (an Affiliate), gets leads for the product seller or owner and generate revenue. An Affliate Marketer gets commission on lead basis.

Publisher- Publisher is also called Affiliate. They get the product links with their affiliate id . They perform various marketing tactics to generate leads. By these leads he can earn a commission.

Network- Network is where merchant and publisher meets each other. Merchant comes to find affiliates for getting leads and affiliate comes to tie-up with merchant to earn commission.

Customer- Customer is who buys the product from websites of merchants via your affliate links, they are also called end-user.

Let us say, you start an online store or a website, and you are deriving traffic from search engines like Google and Bing etc, Social Media, Ads of Facebok, Instagram and Search Engines etc. and other sources like community and forums.

After sometime, you have execute all the sources to drive the traffice to your website. At that time,Companies/websites depend on affliates to drive more traffic to there website or stores to generate sales and revenue. The website owner provides unique links to the affliates to track leads generate from them.

The format of Affliate link is-

Some of the websites and companies have hidden affliate program that they do not reveal on their websites. So just send them the email enquiring about their affliate programs, if you are eligible they will accept you as an affliate. opportunities are endless.

You can find a lot of affliate programs and platform on internet by searching them on Google. Once you started, you will start earning, as sales or leads starting generated from your traffic.

 

Mistakes to avoid in Affliate Marketing

Sugar Coating: Be Genuine, Don’t sugar coat around the product too much that you are promoting. If your customer do not find the product useful as described by you, you can lose your own audience. So, be aware of the words you use.

Over Selling: Too much promotion is a unpleasant, it irritates your audience. You should rather help people with useful products that is relevant to them and let them buy as per their need.

No Product Comparisons and Reviews: Comparison between 2-3 other similar products in your promotions. Coming out with product reviews and comparisons and updating them with time will make sense for your audience and will make them buy more of those products from your affiliate link.

No Testing and Tracking of Links: Not testing the flow of your promotions is not agood idea. You don’t want a broken flow. Also, never miss out on tracking your affiliate links. It is easy to get separate affiliate links for different pages, this will help you in knowing which channel is working the best for you.
