Q1. What is SEO?

Q6. What do you understand by page title? What is the characters limit in page title?

Page title, or title tag, is the headline of the given webpage displayed on a search engine result. Search engine displays first 60 characters of title in search engine result listing. Thus, page title shouldn’t exceed 60 characters.

Q7. How to optimize head section of webpage?

Best way to optimize the head section of a webpage is to insert relevant keywords to the webpage. Also, don’t not stuff too many keywords in head section.

Q8. What do you understand by keyword density?

Keyword density is referred to the metric used to define the count of a certain keyword in a given text. A higher keyword density means that the certain keyword has been used many times and lower keyword density means that the keyword repeated less often.

Q9. What do you mean by keyword stuffing?

Keyword stuffing is a process of adding keywords to a particular given piece of content by ignoring the context of the content for attracting search engine crawlers to rank it higher on search engine crawlers.

Q10. What are robots, crawlers and spiders in SEO?

Robots, crawlers, and spiders are refers to the same program used by search engines to crawl, collect and index data from websites across the internet.

Q12. What do you mean by LSI?

LSI is acronym used for Latent Semantic Indexing which refers to the tool used by search engines to relate the different keywords to each other. Search engines finds related keywords from a given search term to improve user experience.

Q13. What is the difference between SEO and SEM?

SEO is a part of SEM, both are focuses on improving visibility of website on search engines. SEO particularly deals with organic traffic, while SEM includes paid techniques such as PPC advertising and AdSense.

Q14. What are outbound Links? Give an example.

Outbound links refers to a link which takes your visitors away from your website. For example, you post YouTube video link on your blog, that link is an outbound link.

Q15. What are inbound and internal link? State difference between them.

Inbound links refer to the links on other websites which direct visitors to your website. For example, you upload a video on YouTube with the link to your blog in video description, which is counted as an inbound link.

Internal link refer to the links which refer to webpages of your own website. When you go from one video to another vide on YouTube, you are clicking on internal links.

Two difference between inbound and internal links are:

  • Inbound links originated from a different domain or website, whereas internal links originated from same website.

Q16. What do you understand by XML sitemap? Is it beneficial for web optimization? If yes, explain.

A sitemap is a file containing information of your website, which includes about pages, posts, videos and other files, and relationships between them. XML sitemaps are useful in web optimization as Search engines read this file using search engine crawlers to crawl and index your website

Q17. What are backlinks? How are they helpful for enhancing your website ranking?

Backlink refers to a link coming from another website to your website. Backlinks are used to measure a website’s quality, a website having a number of quality backlinks is considered as high quality and enhances website rankings on search engines.

Q18. What is the difference between Do follow and No follow backlinks?

A do-follow backlink passes the link juice to the website which has been linked and counted as a valid backlink. On the other side, no-follow backlink is the exact opposite and does not passes link juice to the linked website.

Q19. How you can create backlinks? Name some methods for building backlinks?

To create a backlink, a website owner has to post a link of their website on a different website or domain.

Some popular methods for building backlinks include guest posting, forum posting and comment writing.

Q20. What do you mean by guest posting?

Guest posting means writing content/article for another website or blog. A guest post typically involves leaving a link to the author’s website in or at the end of the post.

Q21. What do you understand by Search engine submission?

Search engine submission refers to submission of a website or its link to search engines. There are many search engines where the website may not be indexed in their database. Search engine submission helps solve this problem.

The main purpose of targeting keywords in SEO is to make sure that the targeted audience is able to discover a given website or its content easily. Q23. What is a broken link? What is the impact of broken link while doing SEO for your website?

A broken link is one which returns a 404 error when you clicked on it. Broken links can be created for a number of reasons. One of them can be when a website owner deletes the link from website and someone ends up reaching that link from a search engine.

A broken link gives a negative impact for your website in SEO as they disrupt user experience. They should be avoided at any cost.

Q24. State difference between White, Black & Grey Hat SEO?

White hat SEO refers to SEO practices recommended by the search engines. Examples of white hat SEO techniques include link building and quality content creation/posting.

Black hat SEO refers to the SEO practices which are not recommended by search engines. While black hat SEO can rank websites higher in a very short time. But, if search engines catch up, they’ll blacklist the website. Examples of black hat SEO techniques include keyword spamming, cloaking, redirecting, etc.

Grey Hat SEO is the intermediate position between white and black hat SEO. Grey Hat SEO techniques are riskier than white hat, also faster. It has less risk of getting caught than black hat SEO. Example of grey hat SEO techniques are using PBNs, adding words to old content, posting on website directories, etc.

Q25. What are OG tags? Is they impact on your website SEO?

Open Graph (OG) tags are used for social media networks. OG tags are similar to meta tags, they allow social media channels to scan website content better in a similar way the search engines uses meta tags. Also, these helps social media networks display the website content in a more interactive way.

OG tags have a low impact on SEO as they are used to boost traffic and engagement from social media.

Q26. What is the impact of permalink in SEO?

A permalink is the complete URL of a given content on a website. An unorganized or confusing permalink which doesn’t give an overview to the content of webpage is a poor SEO metric. A website should typically follow a tidy way of permalink, so that search engine crawlers can easily access content across the website.

Q27. What do you mean by image optimization?

Image optimization involves reducing the size of images to the possible smallest size without effecting the quality and reducing its loading time.

Q29. What is anchor text?

Anchor text is the content which users see along with the hyperlink. Anchor text can usually be seen on various platforms when someone posts a blog. Anchor text is clickable and redirects users to the linked webpage.

Q30. What is robot.txt?

Robots.txt is a protocol used by websites to give signals to search engines crawlers about certain links to be indexed or not indexed on search engines.
